I have read that this is shown in Long's book on candy containers and is #379 but I have not seen it for myself as I don't have access to the book. This one is marked "Pat. Nov. 4-14" but has no makers mark. I have seen others attributing similar ones to Victory Glass of Jeanette, Pa, some had glass wheels and no tin whatsoever while others had the tin wheels and bottom like this one.
Condition:
This fire truck, alas, has issues, chips on three of the wheel bumpers and a missing, broken off fireman's head. There is also what appears to be a straw mark going through the front hood and a vertical crack through the bell behind what used to be the poor driver's head. There is a price tage string around the rear axel inside of the container, but the tin fits rather tightly and I don't want to risk breaking this rare piece in order to attempt to get it out. It is a rare piece and still collectible in this condition. Be sure and check the photos as they are an integral part of the description and do a much better job of showing condition issues than what I can explain through the use of the written word.
Measurements:

Disclaimer:
Photographs with a ruler are there to show scale only and usually will not show exact
measurements
due to
the fact that the measurements on a ruler start 1/16" into the wood, and the ruler
and the item being different
lengths
away
from the camera lens also creates a perspective issue.
Note:
Because of the way computers and cell phones are set to interpret colors that show on their monitors, and because of people's perceptions of color descriptions, the colors you see on your screen may not be exactly the colors you will get but might appear a bit darker or lighter, or a shade or two different. I always do
my best to show colors as close to reality as I can get them, but keep that in mind when you make your orders as, although I will accept returns for any reason, I WILL NOT accept a small difference in color shades as a valid rea
son for a 'not as described' claim so that you can save on shipping. Of course, if I say that something is black and it turns out to be red when you get it, then
obviously the fault is mine and the 'not as described' claim will be accepted
If you need to have a perfect match and can send a fabric swatch or paint chip, or something else that you have that shows the exact color that you need, I
will be happy to hold the item you are thinking of purchasing so that you can send me your swatch or whatever for me to use to check for that match. I can photograph
the item next to the color sample that you send and you can make your final decision as to whether you want to purchase from that.
Shipping:
I purchase postage online when I package the item. The tracking number shows when that postage was purchased and does not start when I actually take the item to the post office to be shipped. Note, I show a 4 day handling period and although I may get your item packaged and ready to ship on the first or second day, It may take all of those four days for me to get your item to the post office to actually ship it. Please don't be concerned if you check your tracking number and find out that the item has not yet been shipped if it is within my four-day shipping window. If you do need your item in a hurry for a birthday or special occasion, just let me know and I will be happy to do my best for you.
Apology:
I have a cloudy area on the inside of my camera lens that is affecting my photos. I'm saving up for a new camera but until I can get the new camera I am saving up for, my photos won't be top quality.
