    Description

Mid 19th Century guitar in good, playable condition. Narrow fretboard and low action with beautiful mustache bridge. No signs of any major repairs or seam separation but there are numerous little dings and wear that blend in well. The neck is straight but frets ends are slightly sharp. There are a few hard to find, small hairline cracks that do not go through the wood on the top and a larger, slightly raised beginning of a small crack on the corner of the lower bout that does not appear to go through the wood (see last photo). Sides and back are laquered but top appears to be a long faded French polish.  Currently strung with new genuine gut strings and silk basses by Aquila.
    Approximate measurements:
    Total length: 35 inches
    Body length: 17 inches
    Upper Bout Width: 9 inches
    Lower Bout Width: 11 inches
    String Length: 24 inches
Body Width/Depth: 2.75 inches at upper bout and 3 1/8 inches at lower bout
    Width at Nut: 1.75 inches
    String Height/Action at 12th fret: 3mm
Tuners are the wooden peg/violin type though it appears different, more modern tuners were once installed.
Uncertain if bridge pins, peg tuners or nut are original.
Includes quality hard case that is slightly oversized for the guitar.
For it's age, this is an absolutely lovely guitar which I would keep except I prefer a wider fretboard.
